Length:                 Windsor Center River Loop Trail; 1 mile Loop

Windsor Center Spur Trail; 0.3 miles

Pleasant Street Spur Trail; 0.3 miles

Difficulty:             Easy. Paved, mostly flat surface. Watch out for the Poison Ivy all along the sides of the trail. Spring flooding breeds a lot of mosquitoes and makes sections of this trail impassable.

Directions:

From I-91, take exit 38 and follow Route 75 south for 2 miles to Windsor Center. Turn left at the traffic light onto Route 159 north. A ¼ mile down on your right will be the Palisado Ave parking lot [Northwestern End], with trail Map sign. If  you take the next left on Pleasant St, it will bring you to Pleasant Street Park [Northern End]. The trail starts near the boat launch, by the Farmington River.

The Windsor Center River Trail forms a Loop along the Farmington River. Further South, also in Windsor, you'll find the Windsor River Trail .

Starting from the Palisado Ave parking lot [Northwestern End]; Travel South, along the paved Windsor Center River Trail to an intersection and head right. A Fit Trail is located along this section, which travels through the woods. You'll soon come to an *Intersection next to the horseshoe pits at 0.4 miles.

Note; From this *Intersection the Windsor Center Spur Trail travels Southwest, around a pond and over a bridge to Mechanic St at 0.1 miles. Turn right, North, on-road (low traffic). This takes you along the railroad tracks and past the old brick RR Freight Building (now an Art complex) to Central St after 0.3 miles. You may also continue left, West, along Central St to check out the Windsor Train Station and downtown Windsor and its scenic Main St.

Continuing left, East, you cross over an iron arched bridge. Many frogs a croaking below. The trail then takes you North, alongside the Farmington River's flood plain. Pass a picnic table overlooking the river and then come to another **Intersection

Note; Straight, North, the paved Pleasant Street Spur Trail takes you alongside the river, to an iron bridge over Mill Brook, then West, underneath the Route 159 Bridge along a dirt trail. This takes you up to a sidewalk, past some picnic tables to a boat launch and the Pleasant Street parking lot after 0.3 miles.

Continue left, West, up a slight grade, returning to the Palisado Ave parking lot after a 1 mile Loop
