This is my hometown.
Starting from the Old Post Road parking lot; The paved trail travels south into the woods and quickly comes to an intersection. Head right and cross a wooden bridge over Paulk Hill Brook. Travel through a White Pine tree stand before crossing another brook. After 0.4 miles you'll come to an intersection at Crandall Park. Continue straight past the ball field. Notice all the black bat houses on your right. You then cross a boardwalk with an overlook of Powell Pond on your left. The trail then travels alongside the pond before taking you up and around the Lodge. Pass through the handicap parking lot, then the regular parking lot where you'll pass a sign board and gate at 0.7 miles. This next section of trail consists of stone-dust, but is only 0.2 miles long before it returns you back to Crandall Park. Turn right on the paved trail, then left along the ball field again, with the pavilion on your left. When you reach the white building (restrooms) bear left and travel past Crandall Pond. Follow the sidewalk out to Cider Mill Rd and head left past the spillway before passing by Lions Field. As you start up a slight hill you'll rejoin the paved trail on the left at 1.2 miles. Travel through an open meadow before coming to an intersection. Head right over the bridge as left simply returns you to Lions Field. Continue straight past the next intersection to return to the Old Post Rd parking lot for a total of 1.5 miles.
