Tallman Mt SP Park Road Bike Path; Moderate. Paved road but hilly.
Directions:
From the Palisades Interstate Parkway take exit 5S to Route 303 south. Turn left on Oak Tree Rd and follow to Route 9W. Turn left and travel 0.2 miles to a parking lot on the right.
Tallman Mountain is a 706-acre park in the town of Orangetown. Its facilities include tennis and basketball courts, an athletic field, a swimming pool, picnic areas, bicycle paths, and hiking trails. For more information visit; TALLMAN MT SP .
Starting from the Route 9W parking lot [Southern End]; A Map Board is located here. Head past the Map Board and turn left, East, along the Tallman Mountain SP Bike Path. Follow the flat, wide hard packed dirt & gravel trail into the forest. Many intersecting hiking trails, just keep to the wide trail. The trail turns North and soon descends along an old paved road before coming to a gate at 1.4 miles. Follow the Park Road (low volume traffic) straight (one-way Loop) past a picnic area and you'll come to an intersection at 1.6 miles.
Note; Left takes you West, out the park entrance, to Route 9W.
Head right, North, along the Park Road. This is downhill. Bear right at the intersection past the gate along the closed Park Road. This brings you down to Ferdon Ave after 2.3 miles. Map Board.
