SIKORSKY BRIDGE BIKEWAY:

MILFORD/STRATFORD, CONNECTICUT

Length:                 Sikorsky Bridge Bikeway; 1.7 miles

Difficulty:             Moderate. Paved trail with a long steady grade that may be tough for kids on bikes to climb. 

Directions:     

From Route 15 take exit 53 to Main St (Route 110). 

From Route 15 Westbound; travel left, South. Commuter parking lot on the right. Cross Main St to Ryders Lane and the Western End of the trail.

From Route 15 Eastbound; travel left, North. Commuter parking lot on the left. Cross Main St to Ryders Lane and the Western End of the trail.

The Sikorsky Bridge Bikeway travels from Stratford, East, across the Housatonic River to Milford. This trail will hopefully become part of the proposed Merritt Parkway Trail, which would travel within the state-owned Merritt Parkway right-of-way. For more information visit; MERRITT PARKWAY TRAIL ALLIANCE .

Starting from Ryders Lane in Stratford [Western End]; The paved Sikorsky Bridge Bikeway travels East, alongside Ryders Lane, before traveling underneath Route 15 and turning West alongside the Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. You come to an intersection at 0.5 miles.

Note; Heading straight, West, a Spur Trail travels 0.25 miles to Main St (Route 110).

Head left, East and travel up to Route 15 where the trail travels alongside the bridge. Great views of a marsh. You then cross over the Housatonic River and some RR tracks to Milford. Finally you end your assent and travel down alongside an on-ramp to Wheelers Farm Rd where the trail ends at 1.7 miles
