Length:                 Pendleton Rail Trail; 6.2 miles

                                Lockport Rail Trail; 0.5 miles

Difficulty:             Pendleton Rail Trail; Easy. Flat paved rail trail. Middle 1.8 mile Section hard packed dirt. 

                                Lockport Rail Trail; Flat paved rail trail.

Directions:     

To Start from the Townline Road parking lot in Hoffman/Pendleton [Southern End]; From I-290 take exit 3 to Route 62 north for 3.5 miles and turn right on Crescent Dr which becomes Townline Rd. Enter Hoffman and the parking lot is on your right.

To Start from the Lockport Road parking area [Northern End]; From the junction of Routes 31 & 78 in Lockport head west along Route 31 for 3.3 miles. Turn left on Route 270 and take your third left on Lockport Rd. The parking lot will be on your right after less then a mile.  

The Pendleton Rail Trail follows the old Erie RR. If then continues in Lockport as the Lockport Rail Trail. For more information visit; PENDLETON RAIL TRAIL .

Starting from the Townline Road parking lot in Hoffman/Pendleton [Southern End]; I have not checked out this section. The paved Pendleton Rail Trail heads north through woods and farmland before crossing Killian Rd at 1.1 miles. The old rail bed continues north as a hard packed dirt surface along an open forested corridor before crossing Meyer Rd at 1.8 miles where the trail is paved again. Cross Campbell Blvd passing by a parking lot at 3.7 miles in Pendleton Center. Cross Feigle Rd where the trail follows the power line corridor. Cross Mapleton Rd and then Lockport Rd at 6.2 miles. Note; You can access the Canalway Trail; Rochester-Buffalo by heading right (east) on-road 0.7 miles (wide shoulder) along Lockport Rd, crossing over the canal to the paved Canalway Trail; Rochester-Buffalo where it crosses the road. parking lot located here.

The paved trail crosses into Lockport as the Lockport Rail Trail and travels another 0.5 miles to Murphy Rd at 6.7 miles. Future plans call for continuing the trail north to Lockport and the Canalway Trail; Rochester-Buffalo .
