Directions:
To Start from the Bar CCC Reservoir parking lot for the Cherry Creek Trail & Sulphur Gulch Trail [Western End] in Parker; From the intersection of Route 83 and Mainstreet in Parker, travel west, along Mainstreet for 0.5 miles to S Twenty Mile Rd and turn left. Take your first right into the parking lot and continue right to the northern end. Here, a cement spur trail takes you down to the Sulphur Gulch Trail.
In Parker, the East-West Sulphur Gulch Trail connects to both the North-South Tallman Gulch Trail & regional North-South Cherry Creek Trail . Both Parker trails follow the generally dry creek beds of Sulphur Gulch & Tallman Gulch. Denver & its suburbs are very bike friendly with lots of interconnecting neighborhood trails that connect to Denver's main trails. Sulphur Gulch Trail:
Starting from the intersection of the Cherry Creek Trail & Sulphur Gulch Trail [Western End] in Parker; Map Board, picnic pavilion and 0 Mile Marker for the Sulphur Gulch Trail. Green Mile Markers every 0.5 Miles and informational signs along the trail.
Note; The Cherry Creek Trail travels North & South from here, alongside Cherry Creek.
The wide, cement Sulphur Gulch Trail travels East, alongside the generally dry Sulphur Gulch. Pass by Bar CCC Park on your left (Porto-Potty & picnic pavilion) and a Spur Trail on your right.
Note; This Spur Trail will take you up to the Bar CCC Reservoir parking lot.
Travel underneath S Twenty Mile Rd and follow an open corridor. Travel underneath Dransfeldt Rd and Route 83, before crossing S Pikes Peak Rd at 0.9 miles. Water fountain, picnic table & informational sign.
Note; Left, takes you through downtown Parker.
Next, travel underneath S Pine Dr and pass by the Pikes Peak parking lot on your left at 1.3 miles, before passing by the Norwell Outdoor Fitness Park on your left, a and a bridge over the gulch on your right. Continue straight and just before you travel underneath Stonehenge Way at 1.6 miles you'll pass by the start of the Tallman Gulch Trail.
Note; The Tallman Gulch Trail starts here, traveling right, South, alongside the generally dry Tallman Gulch. 0 Mile Marker located here. See; Tallman Gulch Trail Below.
Continuing East, travel underneath Willow Park Dr and pass by Riva Ridge Park (parking lot, playground & water fountain) before traveling underneath Riva Ridge Rd at 2.4 miles. Come to an intersection at 2.7 miles.
Note; Left, takes you past Deer Trail Park (playground) and out to Gail Way after 0.3 miles.
Next, travel underneath Canterberry Pkwy at 3.2 miles, where you'll find the Canterberry Crossing Recreation center. Playground, water fountain & parking lot. Cross Canterberry Trail at 4 miles, after which the trail then turns South, to an intersection.
Note; Right, takes you out to S Birchwood Ct.
Continue straight, where the paved trail ends after 4.4 miles at a white fence.
Note; Right, West, a crushed gravel trail will take you 0.2 miles to Paperflower Park. Parking lot, sports courts, playground & pavilion.
Note; Straight, South, a crushed gravel trail will take you alongside the generally dry Sara Gulch, 0.5 miles to *Buffaloberry Drive.
Note; Right, Southwest, you can create a Loop, by traveling on-road, past Spirit Ridge Park for 1.3 miles to Cimarron Middle School, where you can connect to the Tallman Gulch Trail.
Tallman Gulch Trail:
Starting from the intersection of the Sulphur Gulch Trail & Tallman Gulch Trail [Northern End] in Parker; 0 Mile Marker located here. Mile Markers every 0.5 Miles.
Note; The Sulphur Gulch Trail travels East & West from here, alongside Sulphur Gulch.
The wide, cement Tallman Gulch Trail travels South, across a bridge over Sulphur Gulch, then alongside the generally dry Tallman Gulch. Pass by sports fields and picnic tables before you cross Seibert Cir and come to an intersection at 0.3 miles.
Note; Straight, Southeast, the wide, cement Transmission Line Trail takes you under the power lines and up to Seibert Cir. It then continues East, uphill, underneath the power lines, to Omaha Ave at 0.4 miles. The trail continues as crushed gravel, bringing you to Riva Ridge Dr after 0.8 miles.
Head right, across a bridge, followed by a second bridge over the gulch through open fields. Cross Seibert Cir and pass by some picnic tables and a BIKE STATION, before coming to the red Slemmer Ranch Barn. Old farm equipment. Next, come to the Iron Horse Elementary School parking lot at 0.8 miles. Travel out to and across Tallman Dr, where the trail now follows a partially shaded, residential corridor. Multiple spur trails out to neighborhood streets. Pass by the Tallman Gulch playground at 1.6 miles.
Note; Left, North, the wide, cement Hidden River Trail travels through neighborhoods
Continuing straight, you'll pass by the Six Point Trail on your left, before coming to another intersection at 2.4 miles.
Note; Right, will bring you to Tallman Meadow Park (parking lot, sports fields, playground and picnic tables).
Next, travel underneath Canterberry Pkwy, where the trail continues East, ending at an intersection after 3 miles.
Note; Right, South, a wide cement trail will take you 0.3 miles down to Legend High School.
Note; Left, North, a wide cement trail will take you 0.4 miles up to Cimarron Middle School and *Buffaloberry Drive.
Note; Right, Northeast, you can create a Loop, by traveling on-road, for 1.3 miles to Spirit Ridge Park, where you can access the Sulphur Gulch Trail.
