The Hutchinson River Greenway follows the Hutchinson River Parkway and part of the Hutchinson River from Ferry Point Park near the Whitestone Bridge north. It utilizes part of the Mosholu-Pelham Greenway before continuing north through Pelham Bay Park to the Westchester County line. For more information visit;  HUTCHINSON RIVER GREENWAY .

Starting from the junction of the Mosholu-Pelham Greenway & Central Section of the Hutchinson River Greenway (Junction of the Bronx & Pelham Pkwy & Hutchinson River Pkwy):

Heading South: The paved Hutchinson River Greenway travels south along the western side of the Hutchinson River Pkwy. After a mile you'll come to Waters Pl. Turn left and travel up to Westchester Ave.

Note; Left up Westchester Ave will bring you to the NYC Subway's Middletown Road Station. No elevator access so you'll have to carry your bike up or down the stairs.

Cross over Westchester Ave via a cross-light and turn left traveling over the Hutchinson River Pkwy. Turn right and pick up the trail as it continues south along the east side of the Pkwy. The trail follows alongside an on-ramp out to Bruckner Blvd at 2.1 miles. Heading right you’ll travel back over the Pkwy, then left underneath a big interchange (Cross Bronx Expressway/Bruckner Expressway) to Brush Ave & Bruckner Blvd at 2.4 miles. I haven't checked out this next section. Here you'll follow a BIKE LANE south along Brush Ave to Wenner Pl, past which you follow BIKE SHARROWS to Schley Ave at 3.3 miles. Here you’ll pick up the paved trail as you enter Ferry Point Park. The trail winds through the park passing a playing field and a parking lot at 3.4 miles. You’ll pass by more fields before coming to Westchester Creek, a tidal inlet of the East River at 4 miles. Nice views of the Bronx-Whitestone Bridge from here. The paved trail then travels north alongside the creek to a circle where two trails both Loop back to the main trail.

Heading North: The paved Hutchinson River Greenway/Mosholu-Pelham Greenway continues east alongside the Bronx & Pelham Pkwy before traveling underneath I-95 and coming to an intersection.

Note; The Mosholu-Pelham Greenway continues straight (east).

Follow the ramp right up to the I-95 pedestrian bridge over the Bronx & Pelham Pkwy and RR tracks to Palmer Ave at 1 mile. The trail then heads left alongside Palmer Ave before traveling between the Hutchinson River Pkwy and Hutchinson River Pkwy E. After traveling underneath the Hutchinson River Pkwy the trail turns left along a short ramp which brings you up to the Hutchinson River Pkwy at 1.6 miles. I haven't checked out this next section. Continue left across the Hutchinson River where the trail bears left following an on-ramp. A pedestrian bridge takes you over the Hutchinson River Pkwy then down and across an off-ramp at 2.2 miles. Here the trail crosses over and enters the Thomas Pell Wildlife Sanctuary. You cross over some RR tracks and come to Shore Rd at 2.6 miles. Here the paved trail heads left alongside Shore Rd.

Note; Right, the paved trail will take you south alongside Shore Rd to City Island Road after 0.4 miles, where you can pick up the Mosholu-Pelham Greenway.

After 4.1 miles the Hutchinson River Greenway ends at a cul-de-sac on Park Lane in Pelham.
