Difficulty:             Easy. Flat, mostly stone-dust rail trail. The sections in Lewisburg & Mifflinburg are paved.

Directions:

To Start from Lewisburg; From the junction of Routes 15 & 45 in Lewisburg follow Route 45 (Market St) east. Turn right down 15th St and take your first right after Wilson Alley to the parking lot.

To Start from Mifflinburg; From the junction of Routes 15 & 45 in Lewisburg follow Route 45 east through Mifflinburg. Just past the towns center turn right on N 10th St and you'll come to the parking lot.

The Buffalo Valley Rail Trail follows the rail bed of the former West Shore RR from Lewisburg to Mifflinburg. For more information visit; BUFFALO VALLEY RAIL TRAIL .

Starting from Lewisburg; Restrooms are located here along with a map board. Informational signs are posted along the trail. Mileage markers are posted every 1/2 mile starting from Mifflinburg. The paved trail travels east from 12th St along a partly shaded residential/industrial corridor. Several low traffic street crossings until Fairground Rd. Use Caution. After about a mile you'll cross Bull Run Crossing where the trail turns to stone-dust. You now travel past fields and farmland along a sometimes wide open corridor, other times shaded. The trail parallels Route 45 the whole distance but has a descent separation. The road crossings are mainly low traffic farm roads. After 4.8 miles you'll come to Beaver Run Road where you'll find a gravel parking lot and Porto-potty. This is shown as Vicksburg on the map. This was as far as I traveled. The trail appears to continue the same until you reach the city limits where it becomes paved. Restrooms are located at Mifflinburg Community Park along your right just before the end of the trail. The trail then ends after 9.2 miles at N 10th St.
