Directions:     

To Start from South Street parking lot; From I-287 take exit 35 to South St. Travel south to the park on your left.    

Loantaka Brook Reservation is comprised of four distinct areas that include Seaton Hackney Stables, South Street area, Kitchell Pond area, and Loantaka Way with an area of the Park being dedicated as the Helen Hartley Jenkins Woods. Loantaka Brook Reservation bears a name given by the Lenni Lenapes, which means ‘the place of cold winter.’ During the Revolutionary War, an encampment that housed approximately 2,000 soldiers was located on a portion of what is now Reservation property during the winter of 1776-1777. This took place an entire year prior to the more famous Jockey Hollow encampment. The Loantaka Brook Reservation Trail travels through the park along a paved path. Starting from South Street parking lot; The wide, paved Loantaka Brook Reservation; Yellow Trail starts right next to the park entrance. Mile Marker 0. Mile Markers every 0.1 miles. ZAGSTER BIKE RENTALS located here. The trail travels east around the ball fields and marsh coming to an intersection at 0.2 miles. This trail loops back to the parking lot. Head into the woods and follow south along Loantaka Brook. Come to Kitchell Pond parking lot after 0.7 miles. Map Board, restrooms, picnic tables and ball field. This was as far as I traveled. The Yellow Trail heads left across the brook, then left and right north through deep woods out to Woodland Ave after 1.2 miles. 

Starting from Kitchell Pond parking lot; From the end of the Yellow Trail you'll need to pass through the parking lot, bearing left to a paved trail out to Kitchell Rd. The wide, paved Loantaka Brook Reservation; Blue Trail starts across the road after 0.2 miles. Mile Marker 0. Head south into deep woods, crossing Loantaka Brook. After about 1.1 miles you'll cross over the Red Trail

Note; The O Mile Marker for the Red Trail starts from Woodland Ave left (east) 0.2 miles. No parking lots on either end of this trail. 

Continue straight through the woods and you'll come to the Loantaka Way parking lot after 1.5 miles (1.7 miles from  South Street parking lot). Map Board. 

Starting from Woodland Ave; Map Board. No parking lot. The wide, paved Loantaka Brook Reservation; Red Trail starts across the road from the Giralda Farms Trail and Woodland Ave Loop. See Below. The trail heads west into the woods crossing the Blue Trail and continuing straight across Loantaka Brook where it turns south. Cross-light over Loantaka Way then back into the woods along Loantaka Brook. The trail ends at the Post Office after 2.1 miles.

Starting from Woodland Ave; Map Board. No parking lot. The stone-dust, open Giralda Farms Trail starts here. Pass by a small Loop around a pond, then come to a large Loop around an open field. Future segments will connect to Treadwell Ave and Woodland Ave. See Map

Starting from Woodland Ave; Map Board. No parking lot. The paved Woodland Ave Loop travels southeast alongside Woodland Ave before turning left (north) along Loantaka Way after 0.6 miles. After 1.3 miles the trail turns left (northwest) along Madison Ave. It ends at Treadwell Ave after 1.9 miles. You may Loop back by heading left along Treadwell Ave (low traffic) back to Woodland Ave where you'll pick up the paved trail again at 2.6 miles. Return to Woodland Ave after a 2.9 mile Loop.
