CHEEKTOWAGA BIKE PATH:
CHEEKTOWAGA, NEW YORK
-BIKE IT OR HIKE IT-
Last Updated: August 2, 2016
Length: Cheektowaga Bike Path; 2.4 miles
Difficulty: Easy. Flat paved rail trail.
Starting from the Stradtman Street parking lot; From I-90 take exit 52A to William St and head west. Travel 0.8 miles to Harlem Rd and turn right. Take your first right on RV Derenda Ln then a quick left on Stradtman St. When you come to a sharp corner the parking lot is straight ahead.
The Cheektowaga Bike Path I believe follows the old trolley line Buffalo, Bellevue and Lancaster Electric Railway alongside an active RR line.
Starting the Stradtman Street parking lot;
Heading left (West); The open, wide paved trail travels underneath Harlem Rd, past Wrazen Park (No access from trail?) and out to Strawn Ave. Follow to William St and a cross-light on your right. Head right along a wide sidewalk over Medina St where you'll pick up the paved trail on your left. Follow the trail back out to Medina St at 0.7 miles where the trail ends.
Heading right (East); The wide paved trail follows an open corridor between residential on your right and a RR Yard along your left. Pass by a spur trail on your right to Kennedy Rd followed by a second to Saint Felix Ave. After you travel underneath I-90 you come to a spur trail for the Raymond Park parking lot at 0.9 miles. Continue straight past the park and you'll soon cross a bridge over Union Rd where a ramp takes you down to Union Rd at 1.7 miles and the end of the trail.
